Live With Greg – Season 9 Episode 78 – Talkin’ With Topaz

Ms. Topaz Wells! What a force – a fierce force of positive vibrations.

I met Topaz when we both were working the radio stations… well, really – she WORKED the radio stations! She was the vibe that greeted one and all that passed through the doors. Janitors, executives, media stars – all treated and greeted with equal passion… I think a large part of her vibe is she is so glad each and every one of us is alive.

I very fondly remember how she enveloped my family in love when they’d come to visit me at work.

And I had the honor to sit with her recently and get a little piece of her story. I think there are a lot more stories to be told.

This might be a Part 1 – okay?!! 🙂

If you want to work with an ever-ready-battery of SOUL, and a being passionate for the entertainment industry – get a hold of her… before someone else does!

Live With Greg – Season 9 Episode 77 – A Gentleman’s Gentleman

Robert Monegan is truly a gentleman’s gentleman. He has lived his life defiantly fabulous from day one. From everything I have heard about the man, and from my own experience, this is true.

He has been in my corner, supporting my creative path, like no-one else. And more importantly, he has persevered with his own artistic vision through all the challenges. I believe we both would admit the biggest challenge is ourselves. If we could just get out of our own damn way…

But I digress. I am deeply honored that he shared himself so openly. More important; I am deeply honored to consider this man family.

Now, with a toss of our hair, let’s get to it.

Filmmaker, Writer, Director, Artist. Robert Monegan has three films, THE EYES OF THE WORLD, DRIVE, and DOUBLE A, he wrote, directed, and currently screening in various film festivals. Future projects include a live action film based on his Glam Divas characters, and producing his play, DEFIANTLY FABULOUS – a gay/comedic twist on the classic 1958 Tony Curtis/Sidney Poitier film, The Defiant Ones.

Live With Greg – Season 9 Episode 76 – Like A Sunday Morning

Andre Jackson is one of the most content, easy going people I know… like a Sunday morning.

This man, along with my brother, Aaron, enlightened me to the artist Prince. And ‘Dre turned me on to dance music, hip-hop, soul, funk… I used to be a “disco sucks” eunuch; ‘Dre is a major part of the cure.

We touched on some of the stories he has of the mountain tops he’s summited. What is most important to me is his gratitude for life as it is.

There is a lot to be learned from the Grace in which he lives – a man who celebrates the mere fact he woke up to another day.

Live With Greg – Season 9 Episode 75 – Celluloid Heroes

My second episode of S9 was pure delight. Tony Vidal, founder/creator of Prankster Entertainment, invited me to be an intimate part of his journey in feature films. It is a gift in my life I am deeply grateful for.

And as many know, a lot of the stories of storytelling are behind the scenes of the story being told.

I think this is a great insight into a person’s creative journey, the choices made – and what has remained important through it all.

AND – I highly recommend checking out the current features produced by Prankster Entertainment: The Prankster, Baja, and Free Byrd. The uphold Prankster Entertainment’s mission:
We live in a fascinating and crucial time. Now more than ever there is a need for uplifting movies that lighten the heart and expand awareness. To put people in touch with the sacred has always been the ultimate purpose of storytelling.

Prankster Entertainment’s goal is to inspire and awaken, through entertaining human stories geared for a mass audience. We invite you to journey with us into this realm of hope and joy.

Live With Greg – Season 9 Episode 74 – Where Do the Children Play

Season 9 begins with a good friend: Paula Mierzejewski!

I have enjoyed meeting up with her for a great cup of coffee (thank you Red Whale) and an even greater conversation.

We’re both interested in exploring “what is life?”, “how can I improve?”, and generally sharing our experiences of being alive. Some of it uplifting, some of it challenging, all enlightening. I think we both share that general approach to life.

As a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I believe Paula has expressed to me her more inclined to work with children and elders. (I think I qualify for both — which isn’t necessarily a compliment.)

This is taken from her website, https://paulamierzejewski.com:
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who provides therapy for children, teens and adults. I received my Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University in San Rafael, CA in 2014, and have a B.A. degree in English from the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT. This is my second career after having worked 25 years in the legal field. My life’s experience enables me to be a better therapist for my clients.

After working several years as an elementary school counselor for the Waugh School District in Petaluma I moved into private practice.

My primary goal is to help others find happiness and success within themselves, within their family and within their peer relationships.

I think this is a wonderful start to a new season; and I am looking forward to our next cup o’ joe!

Live With Greg – Season 8 Episode 73 – The Human Solution (bonus episode)

Season 8 has a bonus episode — this one.

I met Mirtha over a year ago. Online. Over our mutual endeavor of making movies.

Mirtha’s second film is based on documented facts; a fictional story based in Sweden about the government supported practice of eugenics. Eugenics literally means “well-born,” and it is the belief system that has fostered the nazi holocaust, and apparently is still in practice here in the united states — and throughout other parts of the world.

Mirtha’s information is important to me. Due to her schedule next year, as she is off to produce her third film, our only opportunity to record an episode came at the end of this year… and thus, you have a bonus episode of Live With Greg.

Mirtha can be contacted via her linked in account: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mirtha-vega-9b5608200/

And her film, The Human Condition, is available on Amazon Prime: https://bit.ly/human-solution

I hope you appreciate this episode as much as I do…

Live With Greg – Season 8 Episode 71 – The Furb

Episode Seventy-One brings me back to the beginning: Chris Furbee is why I have a podcast. He was my first guest… we recorded the episode with an idea for a joke. To ask a question and then be silent for as long as we could possibly go. And here we are almost nine years later.

Chris has Huntington’s Disease – and capitalizing that disease seems a mistake to me. I’ve always pictured it as a fuse that is lit in one’s body and there is no way to put it out… and it keeps burning down to an explosion. Chris created a documentary about his Mom passing from the disease and him finding out he also had it. It is quite powerful to watch. It is free for the public on YouTube: Huntington’s Dance.

He is quite open in this interview. I am grateful he is my friend; and I’m grateful for the time he gave me for this episode of LWG.

Live With Greg – Season 8 Episode 70 – Still Waters Run Deep

September 2021, episode 70, is with a good friend; Brook. Though our paths don’t often meet up, she is someone I’ve known for many years – and feel close to regardless of time between visits. I’ve always admired her strength, and this episode I got a little glimpse into the depth from which such strength is forged from… this one’s an honor, people. #enjoy

Live With Greg – Season 8 Episode 69 – Waste Not; Want Not

August 2021, episode 69, is an encore visit with Molly de Vries. She has truly been a dear friend, someone I’ve grown close to.

AND!… more importantly, she is a Zero Waste warrior! An Earth liaison for community – us lay people & governing bodies – and the entities dealing with waste management.

Molly is spear-heading the work to remove single-serve cups from Mill Valley: “Help Mill Valley launch a first-of-its-kind reusable lending-cup program to end single-use waste.

So – let’s get a link on here for her fund-raiser:

Her knowledge and experience with zero waste and the business of waste management is far deeper then we were able to get to; we just are scratching the surface with this episode.

Here are some reference links she passed my way:
